Transitioning your dog to RMBD

• Make sure they’re hungry.
• Most dogs naturally love bones. You can simply swap over their regular food with a raw meaty bones’ diet without the need for weaning.
  

Tips for fussy dogs:

• Make sure they’re hungry when you offer the first bone e.g. fast them for a day
• Offer fully thawed bones to make it easy for them
• Smear their favourite food over the carcass or stuff their favourite treats into the carcass
  

Don’ts:

• Cut it small – this increases choking hazards
• Leave food out if they’re not interested – they will just ignore the food. Instead, put it away after 5 minutes if they’re not interested and re-offer later in the day.
• Make sure you have good isolation to feed dogs in a multi-dog household. Even best-dog-friends would fight for bones as bones are very precious to them. A crate, for instance, is great for this purpose.
  

What you can expect, especially for older pets:

• Mild lose stool for at most five days as gut microbiome is adjusting. Your pet should not be sickly or lethargic.
• After the transition period, you would expect smaller amount of stool, less odorous and they tend to be dry and can be chalky.
